Brief but Spectacular, August 1-4-2017
This house worked well for our meeting of families from Eastern WA and CA. It is a beautiful view and you can hear the ocean at night. A great walking path right across street and a wonderful beach below. Our granddaughter enjoyed a horse ride on the beach and we explored Cape Blanco Lighthouse short distance away. Many happy memories.
Second stay here,
This is our second stay at All About the View, South. There were four of us, so this place provided plenty of space. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of spices and ample amounts of cooking ware as well as plates cups and so on. We had a guest for a few nights who is 92 years old and was able to negotiate the stairs without too much difficulty. As in our past visit, the views of the ocean and rocks are great. We took daily walks to the beach at low tide and marveled at the sea critters among the small rocks.A few days were cloudy and windy and that effects the view out the windows. . The maintenance fellow cam by and hosed off the windows and that greatly improved visibility. The only time heat was needed was a few times in the shower. Since the heaters are in each room, we were very comfortable at all times. Occasionally we could hear slight noise form the north unit, but nothing that was distracting or irritating. The only downsides were the light switch in the garage would not always work correctly and the grill ran out of gas on our first and only planned use. We did not have time to get it refilled.. I was able to get in two rounds of golf at their course Bandon Crossings. Since guests get a discounted rate that was just a bonus. The course was in fine condition and the staff is very helpful. It not often you get to chat with one of the course keepers that have a Scottish accent and a delightful fellow. This is a place I would not hesitate to spend another week, in the future.
Duane, I'm glad you had a good trip and also had a chance to play at Bandon Crossings. We do try to make sure the propane tanks are filled, but it has been a very busy summer and I guess we didn't realize it was low. We do look forward to having you come back to Bandon again.
Everything is great
Great view, great location .We will certainly come here again.
Perfectly situated just back from a bluff managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and endless views to the west and some of the most scenic coastline in North America. A short walk to the beach across the USFWS land and down some stairs to the beach with endless opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Within walking distance (one mile) of Old Town Bandon where some of the best sea food can be found and Cranberry Sweets with cranberries locally grown. The house is the southern side of a duplex. Spacious rooms and 2 full size bathrooms with a whirl pool in the master bathroom. A full walk in master closet and a king bed. Two downstairs bedrooms, one with a twin and a double bed and another with a queen bed. Down stairs full bath is spacious. Washer and dryer in the garage. Upstairs bathe is a half bath. Kitchen and living and dinning room are open and all look out to the west with spectacular views. A small deck off the back allows for fresh air and outdoor enjoyment. Large flat screen TV in living room with bar style counter and stools at the kitchen. There is a gas fire place that offers a charming warmth to the occasional blustery days while enjoying the view. The kitchen has modern appliances and is well stocked with everything you need to make a meal (except the food of course). Grocery stores are located one mile away. There is a nice city park and library and local arts theater a quarter mile away. Maintenance and manager are located in town and a phone call away. There was plenty of instructions from the owner before arrival through email and the owner was easily contacted for questions and clarification as well as the manager. This is a wonderful and perfectly located vacation home that is clean and well maintained. Highly recommended.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the wonderful description!
We enjoyed our coastal getaway at this house. Bandon is such a lovely town to begin with and this house is in a quiet area with access to the park and beach right across the street. The ocean view as well as the sunsets were gorgeous! The house was nicely equipped with everything we needed. The gas fireplace was a bonus on the cooler days. We really enjoyed our time there and hope to stay again in the future!
We found this condo in our exploration of a meeting place for our family about halfway between our location in Washington state and our daughters location in central California. It could not have been more perfect, the two bedrooms downstairs handled my daughters family perfectly. With the park across the street and the front yard ample areas for our active grandsons to play, while still being able to keep an eye on them. The condo was one of the best I have rented as the owners has gone out of their way to have extra amenities. Example a number of dried herbs, spices, rubs in the kitchen cabinets which made the cooking more flavorful. This sure helped, if you forgot something. The condo is nicely furnished and has more than adequate blankets, towels, sheet and that sort of thing. The view "Wow the View", the setting away from the hustle and bustle of town, but close enough for all the visits you would wish. Access to the beach just a short block away...so the benefit of the spectacular view and the beach are at your finger tips. I found the owners to be great to work with and any issues that I had were immediately taken care of. So dear friends look no further, you have found the perfect spot to land and stay. Our family will return!
My favorite thing about this house was the location. You can't argue with an ocean view and a park across the street. Access to the beach is so easy-taking a morning walk or jog on the beach was so fun. The house is very nice as well. Floor level has two bedrooms (the only downside was two soft mattresses) and the upstairs has a master and the kitchen/living area. We loved our stay here and would do it again in a second. Southern Oregon is so underrated. The owners were great to work with as well. Thanks for the stay!!
Family gathering with 9 to 99 year old at All About the View. Great stay with a wonderful dining area that our down time was spent playing games and sharing meals. Carla was easy to connect with and everything was in great working order. The beach access was right there and the kids could come and go. The perfect sunset viewing area is right in front of the home. Thank you for providing a clean, well stocked house. Very user friendly.
Beautiful view! Comfortable beds, owner great to work with and close walk to a nice beach. Disappointed that only one side of the garage was usable,as well a deck off the bedroom. The jets in the bathtub wouldn't turn off one night and when it rained hard, water dripped at a pretty good rate down the front of the fireplace glass, soaking two dish towels over night. Those things didn't affect our stay. We enjoyed the home and surroundings. It just would have been nice to have been notified prior to coming, of the garage situation and I was really looking forward to the bathtub with jets=) Not a deal breaker though.
Mindy, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for taking the time to post a review. I'm glad you didn't let the repair inconveniences diminish your enjoyment of your trip. The contractor was unfortunately unable to finish repairs on the garage and chimney cap before your arrival, so only one garage was available, and the big rain storm brought the water into the fireplace. I was unaware that the one garage door wouldn't open, so couldn't warn you, and of course didn't expect the big rain. We thought we had fixed the whirlpool jets switch, but apparently not. I tried to duplicate the problem, but of course it worked fine for me! While we investigate further, we will have to turn it off at the circuit breaker if it doesn't turn off at the tub. Hopefully all will be back in working order before your next trip. Carla
This house is outstanding with a really great view of the ocean! It was exactly as described and as shown in the pictures. Very convenient to the city park and to town. It is very clean and well furnished and maintained. We booked only a couple of weeks before our visit to Bandon and were very lucky to have found this place. Carla the owner was easy to communicate with and provided some helpful information regarding the area. I would highly recommend staying here.
The unit was very attractive with a lovely view. The upstairs area was especially comfortable and inviting. The bathrooms were spacious and nicely-appointed. Unfortunately, the weather was not as cooperative as it might have been, but it would have been an interesting, quiet part of the beach to explore more extensively if the conditions had not been unusually windy. My only issue was with the beach access. Most people would have no trouble getting up or down, but I brought my 81 year old mother and the number and pitch of the stairs up and down was too much for her. We had to drive to other spots to get her onto the beach. Otherwise, a wonderful, fun stay!
I'm glad you had a good time. The two closest beach access points can be a little hard for some people to manage; even though they are well-maintained, with benches to rest, it's still a bit of a hike. The one just to the north is the more gentle, with fewer stairs. For those who can't handle that, we often suggest driving to the jetty, at the north or south ends of Madison where it's fairly flat. We also have the Dunes House at Bandon on 6th St near there.
A relaxing weekend away was exactly what My wife and I needed and when we arrived at All About The View we knew that we were going to get exactly that. When you climb the stairs and look out the front windows for the first time the ocean view literally takes your breath away, then when you open the door to the patio and can hear the waves gently crashing on the rocks below the soothing sound only makes you smile. We walked on the beach and found some beautiful rocks and shells. The beach is a hop, skip, and a jump from the entrance to the condo. The decor in the home is beautiful and it was clean and neat which is very important to us. The master bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub for intense relaxation and enjoyment. We had enough space to host our family and friends there for an amazing barbecue and everything we needed to serve our family was located in the house, we just had to get the food and prepare it. It was a perfect getaway for us and we are so thankful that we had the opportunity to stay there. We would recommend this property to everyone and will hopefully get to go there again! Thank you so much!
We're so glad you were able to enjoy your get-away. Thanks for letting us know you had a good time.
Spent 7 days in this great property the end of May. Although the weather was not perfect this unit was. Was a beautiful view even in the rain. Can see the waves crashing against the rocks from the kitchen, dining area, & great room. Was a very nice experience. The only concern I would express for others is the living area is on the second floor and if you are or have friends that are older (80's etc) it can be difficult to climb the stairs on a regular basis. We met friends from Colorado who were camping nearby and a couple of them has some issues with the stairs. Unit is well equiped and very comfortable. Would be wonderful for families or in our case "girls get away".
Thanks! I usually try to warn people about the stairs when I hear there are guests who may have a hard time with them. We kept the main living area upstairs to take advantage of the views! Wish I could have done something about the weather....
My Husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to stay in this lovely Bandon beach house for 3 nights in mid May 2011. It was our first trip to Oregon, we spent 2 weeks traveling through Portland, Eugene, Bandon and north up the Oregon Coast. Bandon was one of our favorite stops not only because of the magnificently rugged beaches, wildlife including fantastic birds, but also in large part to the nice accommodations at "It's All About the Views". The home was both upscale and comfortable and was located in the perfect spot. We walked miles and miles of beach, cooked wonderful meals in the very nice kitchen and enjoyed spectacular sunsets from the condo. It was peaceful, romantic and completely enjoyable. We hope to visit again in the near future! Carla was absolutely great to work with, she communicated quickly to all of our questions and offered many suggestions about Bandon and our commute to this home from Eugene. Thank you Carla for all your attention to detail that made our stay in your home so memorable!
Thanks! Glad you had a chance to enjoy Bandon!
We spent 4 days in Bandon in June 2010. The location was the best, with walking trails along the bluff and down to the gorgeous beach only a few steps away. I must have taken 500 pictures. There was plenty of room in the condo for everyone and it was very comfy for all. Carla was very easy to work with making all the arrangements and letting us know what we needed to do to secure our deposit. She let us know we could get golf discounts at Bandon Crossings too. We've told other couples about how great this place is and we know we will be back. Bandon is one of our most favorite beach towns and this condo set up works well for us.
My family of 2 adults and 3 kids, ages 11, 11 and 10, very much enjoyed staying at this property. It faces the beach, and is a short walk from the beach. The nearby beach is fantastic for adults and kids alike, with lots to explore. The view of the beach from the house is constantly changing, depending on the weather. The property is clean, tastefully decorated, with every convenience available, and feels very spacious and comfortable. Our family enjoyed that the master bedroom is upstairs, while the kids were able to hang out downstairs in their own bedrooms. We wish we would have stayed longer!
We always love to hear when our guests have a great time!
We went out to Oregon to visit, and stay a couple of days on the coast. This house is ideal for a small family get together - in a gorgeous spot overlooking the ocean, on a quiet street, and close enough to walk to old town Bandon. The house is comfortable and very well furnished - everything we needed for our stay. The extra charges for cleaning, staying less than the published minimum stay and the security deposit were a little frustrating to me, but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. All-in-all, a nice place to stay
My husband and I along with some friends stayed 4 nights in this beautiful duplex in June 2009. The house sits on the cliffs and the view is incredible. There are stairs and paths that go directly down to a wonderful beach that you can walk on for miles. We saw whales, seals, eagles, and lots of baby deer. The golf was fantastic and staying in the house allowed all of us to spend time together that we couldn't have done in a hotel. The owner was so very nice and helpful. We will definately be returning.
It is so gratifying when our guests have a wonderful time... that's what it's REALLY all about. The animals are always interesting, along with walks on the beach. And there is great golf in the area, at Bandon Crossings (with or without a cart), Bandon Dunes resort, and the smaller family-friendly Old Bandon Course. Carla
I found this place by searching vacation homes from Bandon website just a week prior to our vacation, luckily, Carla responded me promptly with flexible schedule to arrange even within such a short notice. The location is just perfect, it is inside of Bandon State park, we did ride bikes around the community and walked to the beach and Oregon Islands of National Wildlife Refuge. We stayed in North unit for 2 nights and had a lot of fun there, all rooms can see ocean! At night, my husband and I still have to catch emails and are surprisingly found the wireless speed is super fast! (130Mb/s!). When we packed to leave at last day, my 6-yr-old did not want to leave ? Finally, I am really satisfied with service Carla provided, she always responded my emails timely with thorough info. Again, thanks Carla for offering this quality vacation home for our vacation in Bandon. Ying
We stayed at All About the View again in July 2008 in the North Unit this time. Once again we were delighted with the entire experience. The area is becoming so familiar to us which feels good. My husband was delighted that Rex & Carla had created Bandon Crossings golf course since we'd last been to Bandon in '06. He played a round or hit balls there almost daily. He was in Hog Heaven! We're happy to say we'll be back this summer once again. :)
Carla, My wife and I, and our children, wanted to thank you for a most memorable and fun vacation, while staying at your wonderful beach house. It was perfect! We wanted to stay longer, and it was hard to leave. We had so much fun. The weather was suspect at times, but it didn't matter, because we all had fun in the house playing games and being with each other. The accomodations and space was perfect. Corinne and I loved the master suite, and the walk in closet provided the perfect place for our 2 year old to sleep. The views from the point, just a short walk away were breathtaking. The location provided the perfect base of operations for our trips to the Redwoods and Wildlife Safari. The next time we stay we will have to spend more time on the actual beach there, which the kids and I did some. We would love to rent both units out sometime with the rest of our family. We loved old town Bandon and the Wildlife Park 7 mi down the highway from the house. Even your directions/map to the ER at South Coos came in handy, as our 8 yr old daughter got a little too close to one the live crabs we picked from Tony's Crab Shack for dinner. I'm happy to report they didn't even charge us, the MD said I did a great job of cleaning the wound, gave us some steri strips and said have a great vacation!! Her finger was fine and the crabs were delicious, according to Lily, the victim. And on Saturday night, as we were coming back up the coast line, a nasty storm was blowing, sheeting rain, powerful winds, dark, our van hugging the curves, driving slowly to stay on the road, the thought of the warm, comfortable beach house waiting for us, driving into the garage was like coming home. It was really just perfect. Thank you for the wonderful stay, and it really is all about the view. I got some great panoramic shots with my camera. We would love to come back soon. We can't wait. Thank you again. Sincerely, Jason and Corinne, Glenn, Lily, Maxwell, and Harrison
My family stayed at the property last July '06 & it was even better than all of the pictures! We loved Bandon. My husband played every golf course while we were there & enjoyed the freshest catches from the seafood store down the road. Carla made our trip planning so easy. We want to come back!
